Composition of your riding helmet Casque Référence
The shell
The outer shell of the helmet is made of ABS. Its role is to disperse the energy of the impact across the surface of the helmet. When your helmet hits an object, the shell spreads the shockwave by dissipating it. Rigid and lightweight, it is known for its high resistance to scratches.
The inner lining
Made of EPS (expanded polystyrene), it absorbs the energy generated by the impact by contracting. The inner lining therefore becomes much denser. Its density varies according to the sizes of our helmets. To see the effects of an impact on the inner lining, check out our blog post.
The vents
Its 4 front vents and 2 rear extractors provide good air circulation. Thermal regulation is thus improved.
The retention system
The harness ensures a good fit of the helmet on the rider's head. It is made up of 3 points. The Y-shaped design of the attachment system has points that are further apart, which reduces the helmet's rotation. The straps are made of nylon and the buckles of POM. A bonus: Antarès harnesses are made from leather sourced from the offcuts of their custom saddles. Stylish and responsible!
The pads/helmet foams
In contact with the rider's head, the high-quality foams allow for a perfect fit of your riding helmet and optimal comfort. Whether your head shape is round or oval, they will adapt to your morphology. Removable, these internal pads can be regularly taken out and cleaned to maintain the helmet’s cleanliness. Made in Italy, they are breathable, OEKO-TEX® certified, and can be hand-washed in lukewarm water.
Standard
ASTM F1163-15 / EN1384-2017 / VG1 01.040 2014-12
The Antarès helmet has CE marking and SEI certification.
The European standard EN1384-2017 requires the visor to flex when a load is applied to it. This is to prevent it from breaking and injuring the rider. The visor of the Antarès helmets is therefore purposely flexible. In case of deformation, it can be manually manipulated to return it to its original shape.
Helmet Composition
The Antarès helmet consists of:
The "headband" pad set (set B) for adjusting the shell to head size, which determines the helmet size is not included in the price of the helmet, so it must be purchased separately.
These foams fit on the sides. Set B is available in 4 thicknesses: 4 – 8 – 12 and 16 mm. The back part of the "headband" pad is removable to allow for more space for a ponytail or to tuck hair inside the helmet.

Care
The foams are washable in lukewarm water or in the machine at 30 degrees; do not put them in the dryer.
Warranty
You have a 5-year warranty from the date of manufacture of the helmet to request a revision of your helmet.
Note: Antarès helmets are more rounded; if you have a more oval head shape, we recommend opting for a larger size.
