The bit with needles is a bit very much used for the training of young horses & for the work in the longe. Indeed, the needles allow to frame the horse during the opening reins. They allow for better control of lateral flexion. This bit is therefore a very directional bit because it cannot leave the mouth. This bit has a lifting effect
