The Baucher bit slightly lowers the neck through its leverage effect. In fact, this bit has a direct action on the headpiece. This action results in a cession of the neck. As a result, linking this action to that of the neck lifter improves placement and explains why this bit is considered a lowering bit. The upright is attached to the small ring, and the reins to the large ring. A curb chain can be attached to this bit. This bit is interesting for horses that pull or "stick" to the hand. The leverage effect of this bit makes it easier to put the horse in hand. In addition, it straightens horses that are a little too much on the shoulders. Bear in mind that some horses that pose no problems may "let go" with this bit.
