The cavesson is halfway between a halter and a snaffle: it has been specially designed for lunging work. Its relatively thick noseband provides better control for the longeur and greater comfort for the horse. The absence of a bit preserves the horse's mouth. The lanyard is longer than the classic tie-back lanyard, measuring around 9 metres. This length enables the horse to work on larger circles, thus preserving its hocks and joints.
